Cairo Station (otherwise known as The Iron Gate) is the 1958 critically acclaimed  neo-realist masterpiece by Youssef Chahine. Qinawi – played by the profilic director himself, falls for the already engaged Hanouma and against the backdrop of Cairo Station his crush develops into a dangerous obsession.

His views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict are controversial but deeply felt and this documentary serves to humanise this polarising figure.
